Vintage Midcentury Modern Scandinavian Design Glass 'PALA' Vase by Helena Tynell for Riihimäen Lasi, Finland 1964. Forest green glass Block vase model. Helena Tynell designed the Pala (Block) series for Riihimäen Lasi in 1964. It consists of uni-colored vases with a segmented shape and architectonic expression.This is the larger version. It has some tiny inner border chippings, no outer damage, otherwise in very good condition. Measures 11,5cm x 10,5cm x 10,5cm.
Helena Tynell (1918–2016) has designed many classics for the Finnish Riihimäen Lasi glassworks. One of the most well-known series is Pala (Block) from 1964. It consists of uni-colored vases with a segmented shape and modernistic expression. They came in many sizes and a multitude of colors. The series was in production until 1976.
